Oregon’s freshest Fresh Hop event kicks off the seasonal hop harvest celebrations with more than a week of special tappings. 2020 will be the events 5th year and 2nd year at Portland’s “top food cart pod” the Prost! Marketplace Bloodbuzz bar on N. Mississippi Ave with sister pub Interurban Tavern participating for the first time. Each bar will have a unique changing draft selection.
While the pandemic is on, the Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest will be filling growlers and mason jars to-go and everyone who attends is expected to be wearing a mask and keeping 6ft apart. Pints will be available on-premise if you have secured a seat.
Fresh Hop beers are made only once a year when the annual hop harvest takes place in late summer to autumn. Hops, a cone flower used for flavor and bittering beer, are harvested just once a year and processed and dried but fresh hop beers use rare undried, oily and very green hops delivered straight from the farm. Oregon and Washington grow the majority of hops in the United States and thus have access to fresh hops that are typically used within 24 hours of picking.
Prost! Marketplace is an outdoor covered food truck pod with the Bloodbuzz bar. It's all-ages and has many food and drink options. Interurban Tavern features a full menu, draft beers and cocktails with indoor and outdoor areas.
The Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest has no cover charge or tickets, beers individually priced. Food available from the local vendors. Beer lists subject to change, follow us on facebook or twitter or instagram at freshhopfest for updates. The Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest is presented by Portland Beer Week, Prost and Bloodbuzz.
